Read from another plan Import master and transactional data from another ROB-EX Scheduler client into the existing production plan.
Using this function, parts from another plan can be imported into the current plan. It is also a convinient function to use when migrating a single user plan into a Multiuser server setup.

Important: Please observe that by default record ID’s are only maintained for Resources and Master operations. For all other objects new record ID’s are generated according to the id counter settings of the plan you are reading into.

If you as an example loads a Project with id X, then the resulting loaded project will have a record id of Y. This behavior may be altered using GanttSetup.properties readFromOtherPlan.keepExistingProductionOrderIds=false. The result of this setting, is that Production Order id’s of the original plan are kept.

To use this function:
  1. Select “Read from another plan” from the Files menu.
  2. Select “Choose file” and select the plan to be imported.
  3. Put a check mark next to the parts of the plan to be imported. See footnote1

If as an example Project where selected to be imported, then Projects and its operations are imported into the plan using the dates from the imported plan.

If the first operation in the project must be started “today” put a check mark in the field “insert today”. The import will now move all operations to start after today (inserted with unlimited capacity).
